Description:

Take a deeper dive into the monitoring and oversight functions of agency commissioners.  This class is perfect for you if you have completed NAHRO’s Commissioners’ Fundamentals, are looking for recertification opportunities or wanting a better understanding of the monitoring and oversight functions of housing commissioners.

This course will enhance the skills of commissioners and provide a deeper understanding of their roles and responsibilities in assuring their agency’s viability and health. It offers a perspective on the importance of commissioners’ involvement in strategic planning, agency finances and policies, policy approval, customer relations, and program oversight to ensure your agency is on track and successful.

Objectives:

After completing this training, participants will be able to:

  • Explore key financial documents, information and monitoring strategies.
  • Set a vision and strategies for agency success through strategic planning.
  • Identify the board's role in policy development and oversight.
  • Determine key performance indicators for housing programs.
