Description:
This program supports new (and newer) housing and community development leaders and aspiring leaders in developing key skills to prepare for supervising employees, managing teams, coaching, goal setting, achieving outcomes, evaluating performance, and developing and leveraging employee strengths and talents.
The second cohort of the LEADership program, a comprehensive six-part learning journey, will commence at the 2025 NAHRO Washington Conference in March 2025. This journey includes two in-person and four virtual sessions, with a few hours of “homework” between each session. The program focuses on applying the concepts, skills, and tools learned during the program. Participants will also have the opportunity to complete a DISC assessment and Gallup’s Top 5 Strengths assessment.
Participants will need access to a computer, web cam and microphone for virtual sessions. In-person sessions will be held in conjunction with NAHRO’s National Conference and the annual NAHRO Washington Conference. They are also encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet to in-person sessions and expected to attend all six sessions, including the in-person kick off and graduation at NAHRO conferences.
Objectives:
After completing this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify your and your employees’ individual strengths and talents.
- Build your written and verbal communication skills.
- Identify tools, strategies, and best practices to develop yourself and others, support and strengthen your supervision and management skills, and achieve results.
- Explore foundational Human Resources laws, polices and impacts.
