Description:

Ever wonder where your Section 8 Management Assessment Program (SEMAP) score comes from? Instead of just waiting for your score to come from HUD, do you want to be more proactive in determining your score in advance?  

This program is designed for all employees in the Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher program. We will explain the SEMAP process and scoring criteria to help you get ahead of your HUD-issued score. In this training, you’ll learn how to coordinate activities and manage internal processes to ensure your housing authority receives its best possible SEMAP score. 

Objectives:   

After completing this training, participants will be able to:  

• Understand and locate SEMAP regulations​ 

• Identify potential problem areas for your agency​ 

• Predict your SEMAP scores in advance​ 

• Utilize sound Section 8 management practices​ to improve your SEMAP score 

• Ensure compliance with HQS physical standards​ 

• Accurately calculate rents
